Hmm, this type of thing certainly doesn’t bode well for the feminist part of me that hates when men only consider a woman’s appearance and not her abilities to do a job well. But this is a little of both, in the case of the busty, attractive paralegal that was recently ordered to sit amongst the spectators in the courtroom rather than at the opposing counsel’s table.
Why, you ask would such a ridiculous request be asked? The opposing counsel in this case, a guy who was representing a car dealership against whom the plaintiffs were arguing with about disgruntled customer experiences, asked that she be removed from the middle of the courtroom and seated somewhere less conspicuous, ie less distracting to the male audience.
The paralegal apparently was too busty and took attention away from the matters at hand and could have damaged the case that the opposing counsel was arguing. That was the argument. The opposing counsel also stated that she was dressed in a manner so as to capture attention and distract.
Ok, so having large breasts and displaying them is apparently against the rules in court. Sounds like this guy might be a bit tightly wound to me!
