So, I’m kinda embarrassed to admit it, but I’m hooked on the ultimate in trash, guilty pleasure TV. And I’m much later to the show than anyone else was! My husband and I just started watching the Jersey Shore shows on DVD, since we missed out on the whole craze when the show started two years ago.
I was tired of hearing about the show and all of its interesting characters, and I wanted to finally experience the show for myself. I have to admit, I see why it skyrocketed in popularity, it is uber entertaining! The people on the show are not only completely confounding in their behavior, but there is a certain endearment that each character has as well that makes you want to keep watching the show.
I say character, but these people are really just being themselves, notwithstanding the cameras that are in their face twenty four hours a day, which I’m sure makes one behave a little differently than they normally would. But what’s interesting is when the cameras are a little further away, and everyone starts acting a little bit more real (OMG, I sound like the intro to “Real World”, another huge MTV hit).
The girls on the show are just as entertaining as the boys, and they all have one thing in common – they love to push up their boobs to the max and flaunt them at the clubs. Sammy may be the only exception to that rule though when it comes to clothes – although she has some tacky taste as well, just not so revealing.
JWOWW is definitely the worst offender, with her signature, split down the middle shirts that have to involve some sort of double sided tape to show the ridiculous levels of cleavage that come pouring out. JWOWW definitely is rocking some large breast implants. They may be just about as obvious as Pamela Anderson’s breast implants.
And she’s got quite the attitude to go with as well, although I’d be lying if I said she wasn’t a little likeable as well. Snooki falls into the booby trap as well, letting them all hang out in her skimpy little outfits that she wears to the clubs at night, but she can get away with everything since she has turned into one of the most beloved/hated reality tv stars.
By the way, I’m surprised at my reaction to Snooki. After hearing about her and all her exploits before watching the show, I thought I would really dislike her on Jersey Shore. However, she’s one of the only girls that I think I would actually get along with in real life. She’s actually likeable!
Should be interesting to see if JWOWW still rocks the split shirts in the next season. Like I said I’m behind, so don’t spoil it for me!
