Help Fund Free Mammograms
I found a very worthwhile website that I think every woman may want to visit, to lend a simple supporting hand to the quest for free mammograms to those that need them but may not have the means to get the potentially life-saving screening for breast cancer.Â
It’s called TheBreastCancerSite, and if you just visit this page, and click on the link to fund free mammograms, it helps to contribute funds to a program that gives free life saving mammograms to women in inner cities, and low income or minority women who need them.
All you have to do is click on one of the sponsor’s links on the page, and view their ad, and they contribute some undisclosed portion of help to fund this important project. This project is extremely important if we are to win the war on breast cancer, as roughly one in eight women today (and it may just get worse) will be diagnosed with breast cancer within their lifetime.Â
Think about eight of your best girlfriends, and the statistics show that at least one of them will have breast cancer within their lifetime, whether it is sooner or later, this is pretty staggering, isn’t it?
The recommendation is that once a woman hits about 40 years of age, she receives a mammogram preferably once a year, and if that is not possible, then once every two years, to ensure the continuing health of her breasts and also to detect the onset of breast cancer as early as possible so treatment can be more effective when it is done in breast cancer’s earlier stages.
