One well-established fact in the world of cancer prevention overall is increased exercise leads to lower rates of most types of cancer. This is due to a number of factors. Exercise is not only excellent and necessary for everyone’s health, it is also a powerful anti cancer agent because of these many health benefits.
Not to mention, exercise of any type is great for your mental sharpness and your outlook on the world – it’s very healthy for your psyche in other words, and for that reason alone, and the mind-body connection, everyone should definitely add working out to their health repertoire.
New evidence is showing that women who walk briskly, regularly, show lower rates of breast cancer. The rates aren’t totally impressive, but they are significant. Women who walked briskly every day were up to fifteen percent less likely to develop breast cancer after menopause.
After menopause is the most dangerous time period in terms of breast cancer development. During this time, female bodies are more susceptible to fluctuations in hormones that naturally lead to higher rates of cancers that are hormonally based, which many breast cancers are. This is why it’s so important in the years leading up to this time period, as well as during this time period, women schedule time to be physical every day.
If they lose this time for themselves by not practicing a disciplined regimen of walking or working out in some other way, then they risk having higher risk of breast cancer, and with all the other benefits that exercise offer, it’s just not worth it to lead a sedentary lifestyle. I know for myself, I’ve been working out since my teens.
I found that working out and exercising on a regular basis not only gave me the body and weight I desired, but it also gave me peace of mind, a greater ability to handle stress, and a much more upbeat outlook on life – and all the money in the world can’t buy that – but exercise certainly can.
Of course, we all have those days where all we want to do is lounge around and skip our daily workouts, but in the end, the only thing you’re doing is hurting yourself. And hey, it is ok to do that once in a while, we’re only human after all!
