It’s All in the Bra You Wear…
We went out last night to a local winery with some friends and I ended up wearing a body hugging, longer style stretchy turtle neck that definitely required me to wear a bra that outline the shape of my breasts nicely but didn’t make them look padded or weirdly shaped, so I ended up choosing one of my oldie but goody bras that is a thinner material, and not padded, but is very well shaped and has an underwire so as to lift and shape the breasts.
These are some of the best types of bras to wear with clingy clothes, even sweaters, because they outline and complement the shape of your breasts nicely. I’m not really one to wear heavily padded bras because I feel that A.) they are not very comfortable, at least for me they’re not and B.) because they tend to not do what they’re supposed to, which is make your breasts look naturally larger or fuller, and instead make your breasts appear as if you are wearing a stuffed bra.
Now, water bras are a little better, they are almost so realistic that putting one on makes you have the brief delusion that you have giant knockers. I’ve only tried one of these on, I’ve never actually purchased one, but I did like the way they made my chest look when I tried them on, unfortunatley they made mine look too big and I decided I didn’t want to look like a fluzy since they would have poked out of my clothes in a not so natural or wholesome way.Â

Barely There Bras Offer Utmost Comfort
I have a new favorite line of bras and underwear, and if you try one on, your breasts will thank you for the most comfortable bra (that I know of so far at least), you’ve ever put on your chest. I’m also a new fan of their underwear line as well, which is practically seemless for those of you that are worried about lines showing through your pants. The bras are also pretty good, because it’s hard to see them through thinner shirts, but they are not seemless just so you know.
I purchased a criss cross Barely There bra this past weekend (white in color), which is made of a silky material, double lined but not padded, and has no underwire on it. Just the fact that a bra has no underwire makes it comfortable of course, but the fact is it takes a lot more than that to also make it comfortable for all day wear, and the Barely There bra seems to have that.Â
The only problem with the bras that are not padded is that if (like me), you tend to have your nipples show through a lot, you may want to opt for something with a little more padding, but if not, and you’re planning on wearing it underneath thicker shirts or sweaters, like me, then it is the perfect, comfy winter time bra to wear under those big bulky sweaters since it’s nice and loose and not too snug, but also provides support and doesn’t make you feel like you’re letting it all hang out.
The criss cross shape in the front reminds me of a triangle top on a bikini a bit, except it overlaps a bit, making for a flattering look as well, so it’s not a bra that I love but the boyfriend thinks looks like an “old lady bra” either. Since it pleases both of us, this is the perfect option for a lazing around on the weekends bra, and a fall and winter bra, or even one that can be worn under tank tops on hot days since the issue with hard nipples wouldn’t be too bad if it’s hot outside (I myself only have that issue if it’s cold, but it doesn’t take much cold for it to happen unfortunately).Â

Not Only Does Pill Make Boobs Hurt, It Might Make Men-Taste Bad!
Well, this is certainly interesting, and definitely another argument that we really are more primitive than we think in the way that our instincts still guide us almost unseeingly and unknowingly, just as much as our conscious thoughts. There has been debate over whether the pill might alter a woman’s attraction to men, and perception of which men might be the best mate for them, genetically speaking. Now it appears that there is some proof that being on the birth control pill may affect who we choose as mates.
Women choose mates based on their “scent”, but it’s a scent at such a primitive and subconscious level that we aren’t really even consciously aware that there are reasons beyond looks that we are choosing these men. Supposedly there are chemicals in a man’s sweat that women are greatly intuned to, and they let us know on a small scale how compatible that particular man is with us in a genetic way, meaning we can sense whether a man will produce strong offspring for us or not.
The birth control pill alters hormones in a woman’s body, and therefore may interfere with this delicate and discerning process, making a woman’s taste in men “skewed” and perhaps helping them to make the wrong decisions about which men will make the best mates for them on a genetically compatible level.
The problem is that women who are not on the pill tend to seek out men who are opposite of them in certain ways genetically which makes for better and stronger offspring, while women on the pill tend to seek men that are chemically and genetically similar to them, which can lead to weaknesses in the gene pool and produce weaker offspring.Â

Estrogen Equals Testosterone in Female Competition
It seems the estrogen for women equates what the male sex hormone testosterone does in the body and in the mind as far as creating feelings of competition and rivalry. We all know how we say that men are more competitive by nature than women, and that the competitive hormone responsible for their go get ‘em and kill ‘em attitudes in life is testosterone, which also is said to fuel agression in men, and even may have a role in that in women as well since women do have small amounts of testosterone as well in their bodies, and vice versa for men when it comes to estrogen.Â
How do researchers know that estrogen plays a role in competition and the drive to win in women? Well, like men, they’ve tested women’s estrogen levels after they’ve won something of a competitive nature and found that their estrogen levels pretty much went through the roof, and also fell significantly when they lost a competitive event, proving that estrogen is the same role player for the need to win and competition in men as testosterone is for the male.
So, ladies, guess we’re a lot more biologically driven to succeed and win in competitive sports and game than we realized, eh? This doesn’t surprise me, and if I were to throw a bit of an evolutionary theory out there of my own, I’d say women these days are probably a lot more competitive as well because we’ve gained such independence and freedom as of late, considering we used to play a more docile and “quiet” role way back when.Â
We now have jobs and careers and rear families, so our senses of competition and accomplishment is every bit as needed as it is in a man, if not more, since we still feel we need to prove something in many situations, which is an unfortunate biproduct of years of repression. The research recently conducted on estrogen’s role in power and dominance need showed that women with more of a power need and thoughts of dominance and winning happened to also have higher overall levels of estrogen.Â
Are we going to have to come up with a term for an “alpha female” now? Â

Breast Tenderness Time!
We’ve talked about breast tenderness before on this weblog, but I thought it was worth broaching the subject again since right now I happen to be experiencing some really tender feeling breasts, and they also happen to feel like they’ve grown a whole cup size overnight. Why? No, I’m not pregnant, I’m just about to go on my period, and ever since I can remember this is how my breasts get right before Aunt Flo comes to town. Sorry for the corny reference, but as you can tell, I’m in some pain right now, so I’m not thinking entirely clearly (the PMS may have something to do with that too).
Breast tenderness is actually quite common in women, especially around times when their hormones tend to dip and skyrocket, which usually happens to be when some event is messing with us, such as a baby in our body or the menstrual cycle beginning it’s monthly routine. Many times I will even experience tiny little lumps, but I always know that they go away from sheer experience personally, so I pretty much ignore them. If they persisted past my period I would know to get them checked though, believe me – especially since breast cancer runs in the female side of my family on my mom’s side.Â
Wow, and with that I think I’m signing off. That could have been the worst paragraph I’ve ever written! Sorry ladies….

The Best Sports Bra I Own Is….
Well, I figured I’d pay tribute to what I feel is the best sports bra I have owned thus far. It’s not like it’s the biggest vote of confidence though, seeing how I try to avoid spending money on new sports bras for some reason, yet have no problem dropping ridiculous amounts of money on other things.Â
I’ve come to the conclusion that I have an aversion to spending money on bras and underwear, maybe because they’re not really visible to the public eye, but only to myself and my boyfriend, neither of whom I’m usually trying to impress with their newness or stylish flare.Â
So, when I tell you the brand of my favorite sports bra, you’re probably going to laugh or get a knowing smirk on your face, since it’s not exactly a brand that is equated with high quality. It’s a Mudd sports bra. That’s right, Mudd, the teeny bopper brand that’s big on trendy styles of the moment, but not so big on stylish lasting quality. They also have an affinity for splashing their brand name on everything they make, which I don’t care for.
I’ve had this now worn out sports bra by Mudd for about 5 years now, and it’s starting to show the signs of wear and tear, especially since it is a white one, but nonetheless, it is the still the comfiest bra I own by far. It’s soft, stretchy, and doesn’t make my breasts feel compressed or uncomfortable at all. I can’t really wear it with thin tops, as it doesn’t provide protection against the visibility of hard nipples, but it’s great to wear with sweaters, for working out, and for ultra baggy tops that don’t require a whole lot of coverage or breast shaping.Â

Cervical Cancer Shots Reportedly Painful
The new cervical cancer vaccine Gardasil, which protects against the HPV virus that evolves into cervical cancer in women, is given to young women in their teens as a vaccination against cervical cancer, and it is quickly gaining a bad reputation as being a painful shot that stings and even has some women passing out from receiving it!
Now don’t get me wrong, I think that this is a good thing, the fact that we have a vaccine against the thing that causes a deadly cancer in women and can be stopped in its tracks. It’s a very good thing, it’s just a shame that it can’t be made a little more comfortable, especially for those young women who are afraid to get shots in the first place. Lots of people don’t like needles and this knowledge might just add to their reluctance to get the important vaccination.Â
While most shots discomfort disappear with the first few seconds or minutes after they are introduced to the blood stream via injection, some girls are complaining that they experience discomfort in the arm that got the shot up to twenty four hours after they received it. I wonder if part of that may be the way they were given the shot, but it does seem as though enough reports are coming to make it newsworthy.
