Breast Implants to Be Taxed?

In news that a lot of women may not appreciate who are into plastic surgery, the federal government is considering taxing cosmetic surgeries in order to help pay for the health plan that would cover millions of currently uninsured Americans.  Fair?  I’m not so sure.  I tend to disagree a little with the American way of taxing the you know what out of items that people who make more money and work harder than a lot of others can afford, and that’s not a blanket statement by the way, because I know that’s not always the case.

I guess that I just disagree with taxing things that are somewhat luxury items higher than anything else on the planet, so that you can help pay for all the lower bracket’s healthcare.  Why not find the money in places that the government currently wastes millions of dollars instead of taxing the American people even more?

It seems like every time we turn around we’re paying higher taxes for something or there’s news that we are paying a new tax or levy, and the government wonders why so many Americans are stressed out all the time and struggling to pay their bills on time.  I know that this would only affect people who get plastic surgery, but it would really have a domino effect on the entire industry.

Depending on the amount of tax that is slapped on surgeries, ultimately, it may thwart would be customers from actually getting or pursuing the idea of getting procedures done, which could definitely hurt the currently multi billion dollar industry.

There is so much government waste, and yet they want to tax things like breast implants to make up for the current shortfalls to accomplish the lofty goals of paying for healthcare for millions that currently don’t have any? I don’t know, to me this just sounds like another way this healthcare plan might hose a lot of people who work really hard for their money, it just doesn’t sit well with me.
