Grilling BBQ May Increase Breast Cancer Risk?

I remember, even as a child, my parents telling me that eating too much burnt food and barbecued foods, such as BBQ ribs, hamburgers, hot dogs and such off the grill, could increase odds of cancer.  But now, I’ve just read another article that is linking BBQ with breast cancer.  Bad news for those of us (like myself) who absolutely love to cook out on the grill and make a variety of crispy BBQ offerings in the summer!  I also tend to like my BBQ food on the more cooked/well done side……SIGH.

The new findings not only suggest eating a lot of BBQ could be a bad boon for breast cancer possibility, but also women who eat a lot of smoked meats must be careful.  Oy vey, they’ve hit me on the nose – I love smoked meats! I do have to say though, I don’t eat meat a lot any more.  I’ve instead substituted a lot of soy burgers and meat replacements, mostly for digestive and weight control reasons though, so I guess I only eat these foods sparingly now according to a lot of doctors.

The findings are very significant here, so it would be wise to listen to this logic.  The study concluded that women who ate the most smoked, bbq’d and heavily cooked red meats over their lives were more than 40% more likely to develop breast cancer later in life.

They suggest that to counter this dire number, if you do eat a lot of meat, first of, all the best thing would be to cut back on the meat, especially the red meat, and the second thing is, if you don’t think you can cut back, make sure you eat plenty of fruits and veggies to help counteract the negative effects the red meat carcinogens have on your system since they are rich in antioxidants and fiber.

Veggies and fruits can be a very powerful weapon against breast cancer, and even though most of us feel that everything causes cancer that we enjoy, we can still enjoy these things in moderation as long as we also enjoy the things that can counter the carcinogenic effects of the other foods or lifestyle choices we like to take part in.

Combination HRT Lowers Breast Cancer Risk?

There’s been a lot of negative publicity as of late on HRT, or medical Hormone Replacement Therapy, which is a therapy used in menopausal women who need to balance their hormones.  It basically means that these women are given doses of estrogen and estrogen-like compounds that helps to raise their natural levels of the hormone at this time of life when women’s estrogen tends to take a steep decline, and this leads to menopause symptoms like hot flashes, irratibility and abnormal hair growth, to name a few.

Well, the downside to this HRT was that there were problems associated with the therapy, including possible links to an increased risk of breast cancer, as well as possible increases of risk of heart problems.  This news caused quite an uproar in the medical community, and had many doctors taking their female menopause patients off of HRT to be prudent about the health risks.  This also caused a bevy of herbal remedies for HRT to claim they could safely help in the menopause symptoms department (which I tend to advocate more than taking large doses of estrogen from the medical version).

Well, now a combination HRT treatment is claiming that it may help reduce the risk of breast cancer in the women that take it.  The swedish report says that women who take the combination HRT treatment who do develop breast cancer have tumors that are much more treatable and tend to be benign more than the women who have straight-estrogen type HRT.

The results are somewhat confusing though if you ask me, because some of the women who were in the research study had a previous history of family history of breast cancer, and also because how do we know that these tumors are not genetically linked, rather than onset by HRT?

Also, the results were not clear to me, because the study did not indicate whether these numbers represented a statistically significant portion of women who had taken HRT, and so it wasn’t clear whether these numbers of women who had undergone HRT had a staggering occurrence of breast cancer to begin with.  My vote would be still to stay away from HRT…..just my personal opinion.

British Celebs Like Their Breast Implants Big…Really Big

It occurred to me that British women seem to take the fashion thing over the top, and they also tend to take the breast implant size thing over the top a bit too.  Well, maybe I’m not being fair because I’m talking about two of the most recent British famous “imports” to the US here recently, Victoria Beckham AKA Posh Spice and another women who is famous for being a “fashion model” and I’m not really sure what else, kind of like a British Paris Hilton I suppose, Katie Price, AKA Jordan.

I was working out the other day and happened to catch the new reality show with Jordan and her seemingly nice but sorta cheesy husband Peter Andre, and I have to say, it is a bit entertaining, but her boobs are so gigantic that it’s hard to look at anything else on her otherwise thin body, or her face for that matter.  British celebs also tend to over do it on the spray tanning, because Jordan is a pretty girl, but her features are sort of obscured by the dark fake tan on her face all the time.

Sometimes, I really wish women in general would realize that less really is more when it comes to so many things.  Sure, Jordan probably turns a lot of heads on the street, but how much of that is negative, idiot-guy attention that is unwanted?  Men stare at women’s breasts enough without extra encouragement in the form of a pushup bra and massive breast implants to boot.

But I have to acknowledge that some women like this kind of attention, for me personally, it makes me want to turn and run the other way!  I guess I’m just a more modest gal, what can I say?

Estrogen May Help Fight Disease

Estrogen is a fairly controversial hormone.  By that I mean that one minute you hear that phytoestrogens, the plant based natural chemical that you can get from certain herbs, seeds and veggies, are helpful and preventive against cancer and the next you hear that too much may actually help fuel cancer.  Who’s to say which is actually true or has more scientific merit, but now science is saying that the actual hormone estrogen may help women in the fight against certain types of heart disease.

This is where it gets real interesting, in lab animals, the females who had their ovaries removed and therefore dropped substantially or to zero in their estrogen production, were much more likely to suffer artery and circulatory damage than those with their arteries intact, and producing adequate amounts of estrogen.

Not only that, but fine “grit” in the air, or otherwise known as pollution, has been found to increase the risk of heart disease in postmenopausal women substantially more than women pre-menopause, who are still producing tons of estrogen, suggesting that estrogen adds a significant added benefit and protection to heart health and protection against a big causation of heart disease in women, which I didn’t know before, is actually air pollution!

Hypnosis for Breast Enlargement?

Yes, hypnosis for breast enlargement, you read it right.  After all, why would it be so far fetched to enlarge your breast by subliminal hypnosis when countless others have enhanced their bodybuilding through hypnosis, and there is a concept called body “morphing” by where a person is supposedly able to help transform their body via subliminal suggestion (ie hypnosis), and also has the capability to change their whole thought processes on certain things, like procrastination, weight loss, smokind and other vices?

I have to chuckle, because I remember reading an article where Mariah Carey supposedly claimed that her sudden ridiculous breast “growth” was due to hypnosis, and that obviously wasn’t the case, since her newly aquired jugs were obviously by the hands of a surgeon, because of her sudden and extreme growth (why do women lie about getting implants, anyways, just admit it honey!)

Well, Mariah’s supposed claim aside, hypnosis for breast enlargement may require some additional attention from you if you’re interested in getting bigger breasts but don’t really want to go under the knife, nor do you want to take pills, massage breast enhancing creams onto your breasts every day, or do anything else like that where you are putting herbs or other ingredients into your bloodstream, especially if you are on medication where you are prohibited against taking many supplements and things of that nature.

So, you wanna read more about this interesting topic?  See our new page on more of the concepts and ideaology behind morphing your breasts into larger entities here : Breast enlargement hypnosis.

Did Paris Hilton Get Breast Implants?

I was standing in line at the grocery store the other day, when lo and behold, I predictably got sucked into one of the gossip mags that endlessly claims to have the “insider scoop” on celebrity plastic surgery, affairs, make ups, break ups, and basically everything about a celebrity that you’d want to know, and way more than you would want to know!

This one was about celebrities that supposedly had breast implants.  One of the celebrities on the cover was Paris Hilton, the well known media-hound socialite, with her breasts all pushed up and ready to go.  It did look like, in this particular picture that Paris had gotten breast implants, but the same old manufactured story about her getting implants had surfaced many times in the past, so I was quick to dismiss it and chalk it up to some deceptive airbrushing in the photograph.

But, then I saw a few more pictures of Paris Hilton in gossip blogs, etc., when I noticed that, hey, it had been a while since I’d seen her face in a lot of gossip columns and magazines, so maybe there was some truth to the breast implant rumor.  Also, adding fuel to my belief that this time the Paris Hilton breast implant story may be true this time, was the fact that in every subsequent picture I’ve seen, her breasts do look suspiciously larger.

And who’d put it past the biggest socialite on the Hollywood scene, with gobs of extra money just eager to be eaten up by plastic surgeons and therapists alike, to get the coveted “C” cup boobs and publicity for her newly aquired breasts that she so much adores and feeds off of?  Makes sense to me!  Anyone else have any goods on Paris’ supposed boob job?  I for one, think the rumor may be true this time!

Are Wetnurses for Breast Feeding Making a Comeback?

Hmm…..this one is kind of odd, although I do remember hearing about wetnurses and that they were used a lot, especially by aristocrats in the “old days”.A wetnurse is a woman who breast feeds another woman’s baby, for whatever reason, her own breast milk.

So basically it’s a baby drinking breast milk from a woman’s breast that is other than her own mother’s.

Sounds kind of weird, huh? But there might be good reasons for it. Guess where this story sprouts from? You guessed, it – Los Angeles. Apparently the demand for wetnurses has gone up from woman who are either too busy or unable to breast feed their own child with their own breast milk.

The cost could be daunting, which is why it’s probably only affordable to the wealthier sector, at about a grand a week!

Mostly the reasons for hiring a wetnurse are that either the new mom is too busy to breast feed her child and wants the benefit of breast milk, which is well documented by scientific literature to help an infant mature correctly and aid in the development of mental facilities and other important developmental progresses.

Also, if a mother is on certain medications, she is unable to breast feed, and sometimes a new mom simply does not produce enough breast milk for whatever reason and so cannot give her child the benefit of breast feeding.

Take Action!

Do you take any sort of vitamin, herbal remedy, or natural supplement that is considered a dietary supplement?  Most Americans do, and they all need to know that their right to freely purchase and have access to naturally healing and therapeutic herbal remedies and natural supplements may be in serious jeopardy.

Apparently the government is deciding right now whether it can try to govern, through it’s regulatory arm of medicines, the FDA, the health supplement industry by calling it’s supplements and natural remedies a form of medicine that they legally have the right to regulate.

Not only is this absurd, but it is a blatant move to get the government to have more control over something they should not – our health and our right to treat our health as we see fit.  Folks, this is not a good sign.

The reason I say this thought is absurd is because the government arm of regulation for prescription drugs, the FDA, has failed us in so  many other ways.  Look at the failure to identify multiple life threatening drugs (Vioxx, other mutliple pain relievers that were found to have serious health implications, diet medications, etc that had serious health implications and were allowed to market long enough to do some serious damage) .

If you are mad like me, and want to voice your opinion, go to this URL http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/organizationsORG/healthfreedomusa/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=7185 and put your name on a signature list that tells the government you will not stand for this violation of your God-given right to treat your health and well being as you want to, with minimal interference by the government.

We’ve beat the odds before and had this type of meddling put down before in our right to treat ourselves naturally, but apparently the the powers that be (I have a feeling the medical industry has something to do with this), and it’s up for discussion again.

You can make a difference.  Also, you can visit HealthFreedomUSA.org and read about all the ways the government is proposing to interfere in our right to access herbal remedies and natural supplements.  It’s quite mind blowing, and it’ll probably get you mad!
