Oscar time was just a few days ago, and of course the pictures of the fabulous cleavage, the decollete, and the beautiful warm tans and glittery stuff that women dab in between their breasts will be on display in the gossip tabloids, online magazines and allover the place (heck, even CNN covers this stuff now!) 

Before we get to the femme fatales, though let me gush over my favorite actor of the moment, Leo DiCaprio, who I thought looked dashing, and even looked as though he may have dropped a few pounds.  Oh, who am I kidding, he’d still look great even with extra weight…

Gosh guys, well sorry to say the low cut dresses must have been on the “outs” this Oscar season, as many beautiful actresses went with a level top to their dresses, minimally revealing what they have in the way of cleavage, but there were still some fabulous sillouhettes being shown off in those gorgous velvet, silk and whatever other fabric gowns that cling to the figure!

Well, we saw a lot of gorgeous boobage going on, as the femme fatales of Hollywood proudly pushed up their assets and showed their womanhood with pride (amen sisters!).  So, who gets the prize on Breast News Magazine for Best Oscars Cleavage?  Well, here it is  - drumroll please! 

And the winner for Best Oscars Cleavage goes to : None other than….. Jennifer Hudson!

Yes, none other than the former American Idol contestant, come Oscar contender, she showed off those double D’s with great success and confidence, and we loved the rich chocolate color of her gown, but could have done without the silver lame accent she had thrown over it (and it’s Oscar De La Renta, so we’re shocked they put this cheesy frock over a beautiful dress, but whatever). 

Congrats Jennifer Hudson for having the best, and perhaps ONLY cleavage really bared at the 2007 Oscars awards ceremony!

The Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue has long been a staple in many a men’s bathroom reading collections for years.  Heck, I can remember the days when Paulina Porizkova, Elle McPherson and Christie Brinkley dominated this market as the pictures of health for the coveted cover of the most popular issue of the SI magazine periodical of the whole year.  After all, when a guy can look at busty babes instead of sweaty sports stars, he’s gonna take the babes over that any day, right?

Most SI models have been well endowed in the breast area, and that is mostly because women with ample breasts are somewhat idolized here in the US, and add to the “picture of health” ideal that Sports Illustrated seems to go for.  The all American beauty is what they’re shooting for, and for this years SI swimsuit issue, they’ve decided on the “boobylicious” oops I meant bootylicious babe herself, the diva singer Beyonce.  Beyonce has always had a bangin’ body, and she’s curvy, so it’s kind of cool to see a woman like her, with real curves, and presumably real breasts, become more of the norm in fashion (although the bony look is still in too, unfortunately).

Beyonce has featured her cleavage in most of her music videos and many of her red carpet outfits.  And who can blame her?  If I had that natural cleavage to show off, I would too!  Beyonce skyrocketed to fame after she quit her all female singing group and went solo.  She became somewhat of a triple threat, like a JLo, when she began to make herself into a marketing phenom, and started to act in movies (like Dream Girls, and Austin Powers), making herself into a marketing giant, I’m sure with the help of her marketing giant boyfriend Jay-Z as well.

We’re glad Beyonce made the cover of SI.  She represents a fresh and natural beauty, and she seems like a pretty nice person, at least from teh surface.  I got a sneak peek at some of the pictures, and she looks great - very in shape - and she’s showin’ off the gorgeous cleavage and bust she was born with!  It looks as if these pictures confirm, Beyonce’s got natural breasts, enhanced only by a push up bra! 

There are so many rampant rumors going around right now about the somewhat mysterious and unexpected death of the 39 year old Anna Nicole Smith.  Most of the speculation is that Anna had too many drugs in her system for too long and that is what ultimately killed her.  Another, brought forth by her former body guard (who also claims he is the father of her child, just one of the many men throwing their hat in the ring on that claim right now), is that Anna suffered from life threatening seizures (why did no one else say anything about this then, especially that suspicous lawyer “partner” of hers), and that is what killed her. 

Another round of speculation is that Anna Nicole recently underwent a breast surgery to repair something that went wrong with her notoriously large breast implants, and was suffering a massive systemic infection which led to her demise.  While this is possible, it seems unlikely that in this day and age, where plastic surgeons are dilligent about preventing infection before it occurs if they perform a plastic surgery procedure such as breast implants, or repairing breast implants. 

However, there were antibiotics found, so that does point to the fact that she recently had plastic surgery as rumored, although no one knows for sure what kind of surgery, the speculation is that it was a breast operation.  Anna Nicole, in life, was famous for her hour glass figure, and I actually liked that she promoted a healthy body image for young women, although she was surgically enhanced, and did drop a lot of weight on Trimspa and God knows what other prescription drugs.

Anna’s life was sad though.  She was constantly hounded by paparazzi, and she has been plagued by legal troubles in life, as she is now in death as well.  She seemed a troubled soul, a lost soul, but also one that did not help herself out of things, and seemed to push the people that cared about her REAL well being out of her life, so one can only feel so much sympathy for the turn her life took.  Anna Nicole will continue to make headlines for a while now, I’m sure, and hopefully the public will find out what really led to her untimely death at the young age of 39. 

I think we reported on this several months ago, when this idea was still being considered in its infancy/conception stage, but there are now clinical trials going on for a “natural breast implant” that allows a woman’s body to generate more localized breast tissue on her own using implanted stem cells.  Hmm…..I’m not sure if this is incredibly scary or a good thing. 

The revolutionary technique, using the controversial method of stem cell utlization, which has been the subject of much religious discussion and banning here in the US, especially under religiously undertones president Bush since his occupation of the White House, actually was pioneered in Japan, and is currently being tested on women there. 

There is however, sort of a disclaimer that this product has nowhere near been tested for long term safety or effectiveness, so it sounds as if it may be a long ways off from any sort of FDA approval here in the more stringent and cautious US.  As far as a breast implant alternative though, this does sound promising, it just seems to be sort of intimidating, since you’re manipulating stem cells, but this could all be a very very good thing for humanity in the end, and I’m not talking about breast implants but more profound health issue resolutions.

Doctors, even plastic surgeons, however are saying that the results they’ve seen so far with these naturally generated breast “implants” are pretty impressive, and they look forward to more long term studies and safety studies.  Not only can this stem cell technology, which uses stem cells found in fat tissue, which is what a woman’s breast is composed of, help to generate new breast tissue for women wanting natural breast enhancement, but it may also have future use to regenerate facial tissue lost due to trauma and also to help regenerate breast tissue for breast cancer patients if all goes well. 

The way the process would work so far is that doctors would harvest stem cells from fat on other areas of the woman’s body, and implant them more locally in the breast so they could take over and grow more tissue in the breast for naturally enhancing the breasts over a period of time.  What is that time?  Nothing was really described so far regarding the time needed, but it was stated that an adequate blood supply would need to be established for the new breast fat cells to “take root” if the process were to be successful. 

Exciting news in the world of breast cancer research and breast cancer prevention and treatment.  Remember how we talked about new genetic testing that could be done and was on the very fringe of breast cancer research?  Well, apparently one of these “gene tests” is now FDA approved to better predict whether women are prone to breast cancer, or more importantly, to help determine how agressive an individual woman’s breast cancer treatment should be based on the likelihood of remission, further spread, etc. 

This gene test is formulated for women with early stage breast cancer, which is usually detected in a mammogram test, and not (usually, but of course not always), through examination and discovery of a lump.  It can detect through gene testing, the likelihood of a recurrence of the cancer within the next five to ten years.  This new test is called the MammaPrint, and while it is not error proof or doesn’t have drawbacks, like any other part of modern medicine, it’s nonetheless very exciting.  Amazing stuff, huh? 

This information garnered from the gene test will help the oncologists figure out how they want to treat the initial breast cancer tumors in the early stages.  In other words, it could mean the difference between a mastectomy, a partial mastectomy, or what’s called a lumpectomy, where only the most local cancer is removed. 

Mastectomies, while many times necessary and life saving, are a very serious psychological hurdle for many women to overcome.  It takes away an amount of a woman’s sense of femininity and womanhood, so the fact that doctors may be better able to avoid mastectomies that are not medically necessary is great news for breast cancer survivors. 

Yeah, I guess there is really some sort of correlation between natural oils of different sorts that you may typically find in many of the natural shampoos, lotions, creams and other beauty and health aids today that many people commonly use.  Some of these natural oils that have been implicated in breast growth in young boys are tea tree oil, and lavendar oils, both of which are common ingredients used as essential and emollient oils in shampoos and other toiletries to help moisturize and protect the skin, hair and scalp.

They came to this conclusion, or at least hypothesis, because they studied groups of boys with the male breast growth health issue, called gynecomastia, and the common factor they could find is that the breast growth tends to start when these types of products are used, and used more frequently by boys as they become more conscious of their personal grooming, and seems to suddenly cease when the products with these essential oil were stopped. 

Essential oils are basically naturally derived oils that are pressed out of some sort of leaf, tree, or other botanical, and are then used for therapeutics properties on the skin, hair, and body.  It is thought the reason these oils cause unwanted gynecomastia, or male breast growth in men, is that they interfere with the hormonal balance in the male body when they seep into the skin and are absorbed by the blood stream, thus creating an environment for male breast growth.  Probably because they actually produce too much estrogen after these oils are absorbed, I would guess. 

I heard a few interesting, and disturbing stories in the news this morning. Well, if you call my morning ride in to work, listening to the radio news, that’s where I heard it! The first story is actually just really sad. Apparently a woman who had a Marine husband felt that his salary was not enough for her to live the “high life” she wanted to.

There have been quite a few stories about breast feeding mothers coming across various stages of unacceptance in today’s world, which is supposed to be fairly open minded and cultured, but apparently still views breasts as mostly a sexual object, something to be hidden away and ashamed to expose.

OK, I must comment on some of the SAG (that’s Screen Actor’s Guild, not for “saggy”) attendees actresses who are sporting some great breasts.  Whether they are natural or not, who knows.  You never do know in Hollywood, where the surgeon’s knife can be awfully fooling at those high prices celebs pay, but nonetheless, these Hollywood actresses showed off their cleavage and their womanly curves very flatteringly, and no doubt are the envy of a lot of women less well endowed!

Some of the SAG award great bust awards go to Marishka Hargitay.  She’s actually Jane Mansfield, the busty lusty blong from the fifties, daughter, so it’s no wonder her boobs are pretty generously sized for her portion, but still, we can leave some room for doubt as to whether they are natural or fake.  Marishka not only possesses a gorgeous, womanly figure, but she also has a gorgeous glowing face and seems to be genuinely down to earth. 

Another nominee for Breast News SAG awards great busts of the night is the up and comer from Grey’s Anatomy, the gorgeous blond named Katherine Heigl.  Believe it or not, I used to watch her when she was on the little watched show about aliens called Roswell, and I thought she was a pretty darn good actress back then!  Are her breasts natural?  She has a very voluptuous shape, and that could be attributed to either her genes or a cunning surgeons knife, we just don’t know.  Nevertheless, Katherine is rockin’ those curves! 

I just had to take a moment out to question why some celebrities feel the need to go two sizes too big when they get breast implants?  And, why after they get them and it’s so obvious they’ve grown for no apparent reason over night, do they insist of denying it or kind of brushing the fact aside?  Mariah Carey is a good case in point.

Mariah reportedly (of course I can’t corroborate whether this is true), early on when she first got her new puppies, said that she did some sort of hypnosis, and voila, her boobs suddenly became gargantuan melons.  I say that is a load of you know what.  One glance at Mariah’s oversized, always shown off new rack, are an obvious reminder that she has breast implants, and breast implants that are too big (for my personal taste) at that. 

Mariah is reportedly posing for Playboy magazine, but not in the nude.  She will be instead wearing her customary barely there clothes.  So in other words, it should be no different between seeing Mariah at a concert of Mariah out on the street….
